Give one example of a situation where Trump was blasted for something imagined. Show your work.

This is just a snippet from his first year in office. I can get into NATO and other meatier things when I have some time.

Have things to do right now, but I expect I’ll be digging into this later!
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I understand they are not prosecutors, but he should be covered as the criminal that he is, not the favorite to win the presidency.

Both can be true though

There is no pressure on people like Garland because the media (and the political establishment) protect him. They legitimize him.

Bullshit. Garland was playing under rules that no longer apply. That's his fault.

I like the Walz pick a lot and it's the Demcrats doing something they should've done 30 years ago: run random big heart good faith working or middle class people who can't be outflanked on street cred by anyone the Rs might run.

Re Trump, he's an example of how to the political media, only Democrats have agency or are held to a moral compass.

I’m glad there’s at least some mainstream media that doesn’t have Tempo’s binary thinking and attempts to cover different perspectives. A sizable subset of the nation believes the Trump trial by Democrats for Democrats was a farce, and it isn’t exactly the same people that believe the election was stolen. Let CNN and MSNBC beat that drum…the others don’t want to permanently run off close to half their viewership.

This is pretty weak assed stuff. That he really took notes? Recited an Irish proverb? I was expecting something of real substance here.

Did I not qualify that when I posted it? But classic examples of just endless nitpicking and out of context BS that takes away from legitimate gripes.

Don't know if this shit was widely reported, but I get the larger point.

There are two disputed points I can think of. The one where he mocked the disabled reporter and 'good people on both sides'. He and his people came up with credible defenses.

Trump is like the Bob Knight of politics. Knight's teams fouled all the time; Trump lies all the time. It becomes impossible to call / call out all of them in real time. Knight worked and intimidated the refs; Trump works and intimidates the press.

Fans could look at tapes and point out all the bad calls after the game is over and lost. Just like the media fact checking Trump in the days after the press conference or speech is over.

Shouldn’t be, though. 20 years ago a mere affair took you down. Now, felonies, sexual assault, and fraud barely get noticed.

It’s mostly true. The mere fact they typically treat him as a serious political figure and not the felon and sexual predator that he is is proof enough. Serious journalists would be working to ensure he can’t run and would be going to prison, where felons belong. The fact there isn’t a large outcry by the media that a felon is on the verge on being re-elected president tells you all you need to know. If journalists were doing their jobs, he’d in jail. The media loves Trump because he’s great for ratings.

If only the journalists could do their jobs and get through to these people!!!
