There were a couple of guns pointed at Trump's head. The 1st guy just missed.
For some odd reason it's not a big deal.

No kidding. The guy who shot at Trump is headlining a new podcast on MSNBC!

Keep shifting those goalposts buddy.

The goalposts were pretty simple - don't do something fucking stupid.

Keep shifting those goalposts buddy.

Even the Chinese delegate is on the record saying they’re looking for ways to address trade imbalance as part of the broader deal. In the meantime we still have 30% tariff versus their 10%.

What gun was pointed to our head? If you’re arguing that we are dependent on China, then you’re making Trump’s point for him.

I have a buddy in Facebook's server group. They were considering the following.

Buy chips and systems from a certain very large semiconductor company from point of manufacture in Taiwain, build the servers in China, then ship them to India instead of the US and run the farms from Hyderabad. They would connect to your web browser or phone app in the US, but there is no tariff on AI workload queries, so by never moving the servers to the US, presto - tariff avoidance.

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

“China won’t deal”

—China deals

“This isn’t a deal, Trump backed down”

—China reduced the tariffs 115% creating parity for the first time in ages. They dropped all non-tariff barriers which had basically created an embargo against many US goods. They also sent their safety minister to publicly address the fentanyl crisis and China’s role in stopping it.

Bet your algorithm forgot to mention those facts.

Quote
President Trump said the trade talks achieved a "total reset" with China, calling it a very good deal, and added that he might speak to Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the end of the week.
The agreement lowered tariff levels far more than Wall Street expected, with one analyst, Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities, calling the deal a "best-case scenario” for investors. Goldman Sachs cut its U.S. recession odds to 35% from 45% and boosted its growth forecast.
U.S. stocks rallied, with the Nasdaq Composite climbing 4.3% and entering a new bull market by closing more than 20% above its April low. The Dow industrials jumped above where they closed on April 2, before Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs sent markets into a tailspin. The blue-chip index ended the day more than 1,100 points higher.

Isn't 30% to 10% pretty meaningless unless the volume of US goods the Chinese bring in greatly improves?

Ergo this is seen as a capitulation by the business media.

China lowered other protectionist mechanisms besides tariffs.

The liberals at Bloomberg appear unimpressed....

Wonder how much the CCP paid for that fluff piece? What demands could China possibly have when we essentially embargoed them from their largest market and all their shitty goods are sitting on docks? The United States won a big battle this week and you’re cheering on the Chinese.

To the contrary,  I, along with, it appears, the business press and JP Morgan,  question what the point of this all was. None of the stated reasons and justifications are remotely true. It appears it was all for The Trump Crime Family to game the market. As Ben Shapiro said yesterday,  you can now just swap out "Hunter Biden" for "Don, Jr." in stories.  Shows some people are finally catching on.
