Sweet 16 Drought Can't Last Forever
« on: January 30, 2024, 12:15:40 AM »
I've thought about this a lot over the years. I've placed blame on various parties including but not limited to Groce, the Chief retirement, that one Cincy AD can't recall his name and Beckman while at it, etc.

But what I've realized is the drought won't last forever, it can't and it won't.  So one of these years it'll be broken.

In finale, this is the year it gets broken. I feel really strongly about it. I don't bet sports so not putting money where my mouth is but starting in 2024 we're back to the second weekend.

I hope you’re right. This team looks like hot garbage right now but it certainly has the pieces to make it to round of 16 and beyond. Biggest thing is to win enough to stay on the 4 line or higher until we right the ship. To do that, Brad needs to get rotations figured out and make adjustments on both ends. Switching everything isn’t working and opponents have made adjustments to booty ball. I think we’ll see some strategy and rotation changes implemented tonight in what *should be* a winnable game. For us to reach our ceiling, TSJ has to come back to something resembling pre-suspension form, obviously.

Doubt we’ll see big minutes for Dain unless TSJ and Domask are both on the bench and Hawkins is in foul trouble lol

If he can give us good spot minutes the rest of the season I’ll be happy, but I doubt he will be. He just isn’t a good fit for this team that wants to get to the rim and he’s inside clogging it up

Agreed, I hope he can find his way in.

He’s giving us great minutes tonight. We change everything around when he’s in there but it’s working. Good matchup for him.

I just can’t shake the feeling that we’re getting bounced in the second round. I really hope I’m wrong.
