Thank you for not fouling and allowing us to burn precious seconds you might have needed, Willard.
I was scratching my head with that decision.

I've never seen a coach essentially throw in the towel down 4 with 40 seconds left.

Our offense has become very good. A lot of ways to score. Have to hand it to Hawkins. Don't look now but he is our leading 3 point shooter and is effectively driving to the rim sometimes.
And I like the give the ball to TSj and GTFO of his way at end game.
He is a FT machine.

Our defense is struggling. Cannot stop penetration or any scoring post. Have to clean that up heading into tourney. You don't win 2 or 3 or 4 games by just outscoring people in NCAAs.

We are not going to play anybody any good the rest of the way except for Purdue in season or BTT, or MSU in tourney.
We are looking like we will win 14 or maybe even 15 games in BT.

Might grab a 3 seed which will help to get off the 4 line.

Still don’t trust this team but 5-1 to finish doesn’t seem unreasonable at all to me. Good to see Shannon coming back into himself in the most hostile environment he’ll likely see, and Domask and Hawkins relearning how they fit in with that.

Thought the defense was better tonight when they needed stops. We just don’t have the personnel to stop some matchups, unfortunately. Maryland should have a much better record with the guys they have. They’re a bad matchup for us, like usual. They have an elite defense and we hung 85 on them at their place in front of a sold out crowd.

Liked how they schemed some stuff in on defense tonight but didn’t rely on it too heavily, kind of not tipping their hand for when they need it against a better team.

Really solid win. I'm encouraged that we have more often than not we seem to have done well enough at the free throw line in road environments because there's a fair possibility they run into a team in the 1st or 2nd game of the tourney who can't quite keep up defensively and it winds up putting us on the line a ton. And I don't know if it's just getting back to midseason form or what, but Hawkins has jumped at least 10 points in basketball IQ since November.

I wasn't aware but Domask finished with the double double, 19 and 12.

Guerrier finished with 9 and 1. We need him back getting some rebounds but he at least put up some points.
Goode with goose eggs everywhere except minutes and fouls, 9 and 4.

QG has done this his whole career unfortunately. Has stretches he looks like he could play in the NBA then disappears for several games.

Yeah he was a double double machine early on. Maybe the newborn is keeping him up at night. Who knows.
